Bonnie Smith, Managing Director, LeanSigma® Process

Bonnie
Smith is managing director, LeanSigma® Process Industry for TBM Consulting
Group, Inc., and a master black belt with more than a decade’s experience
transforming industry. Bonnie played a pivotal role in creating the synthesis
of lean principles and Six Sigma tools that is LeanSigma, and is currently responsible
for LeanSigma deployment worldwide.
A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Bonnie received
her black belt certification from General Electric Aircraft Engines where
she also earned a master black belt. She was responsible for implementing
both lean manufacturing and Six Sigma as a master black belt in General Electric
Engine Services and as the Director of Total Quality Management in York International.
Bonnie also gained extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech
industries working with Merck and American Home Products.
As a consultant, Bonnie has worked closely with companies such as Michelin,
Applica Products Corp., The HON Company and Pella Corporation. She is also
recognized as a dynamic speaker who presents to packed rooms at meetings such
as the American Society of Quality’s Annual Conference, ASQ Round Tables
and the Institute for International Research.
David Beal, Director, U.S. Consulting East
A LeanSigma®
master black belt with 25 years experience in the automotive industry, Dave
Beal is well known for his team-building and teaching talents. He became a
TBM team leader in 2002.
Dave is credited with helping to develop TBM’s LeanSigma practice,
joining his quality background with a lean sense of urgency.
Prior to arriving at TBM in 1999, Dave was managing director for European
operations for Preferred Technologies Group, a United Technologies company,
which supplies the automotive industry with power steering systems. He was
also a multi-site plant manager for United Technologies in the U.S. and a
lean leader.
Since joining TBM, Dave has become a trusted advisor to companies such as
Caterpillar, Cold Spring Granite, Hubbell, Inc., Maytag Corporation and Pella
Corporation.
Dave has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Northwestern University
and speaks conversational Russian.
Doug Bonner, Senior Management Consultant
A LeanSigma®
master black belt and holder of two advanced degrees, Doug Bonner is a recognized
expert in quality initiatives and in the integration of lean and Six Sigma.
Doug received his black belt training at General Electric’s Aircraft
Engine Manufacturing and Assembly division where he worked for 11 years. During
that time, he advanced to become a unit manager and was selected to help key-client
Boeing Aircraft implement and integrate Six Sigma with their continuous improvement
program.
While at TBM, Doug has been an advisor to companies such as Michelin Tire
NA, Pella Corp., Doncasters and Amana.
Doug has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia
Tech, a Masters of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado
State University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill.
Philippe Joly, Senior Management Consultant
A LeanSigma®
master black belt, trained in lean principles by the architects of the Toyota
Production System, Philippe Joly is valued for his leadership and project
management skills.
Prior to joining TBM in 2003, Philippe was an internal consultant in process
control and supply chain management at Kodak-Industrie, a 2,500-employee plant
in Chalon-sur-Saône. He has lead dozens of improvement teams over the
years as a consultant, utilizing both lean and Six Sigma tool sets. For two
years before joining TBM, he was also an independent Six Sigma consultant.
As a project manager for the private research company BERTIN et Compagnie,
he was responsible for such projects as coordinating UK and French companies
to work jointly on Muscular Dystrophy research. He has experience in R&D,
production, quality and logistics at Hewlett-Packard in Grenoble. Philippe
has a degree in Electronic Engineering from Grenoble Electronic and Radio-electricity
Institute: Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Electronique et de Radio-électricité.
He is certified in Production and Inventory Management and in Integrated Resource Management by APICS.
Elizabeth A. Morrison, Senior Management Consultant
A LeanSigma®
master black belt with 24 years experience in aerospace and nuclear-submarine
manufacturing, Beth Morrison comes to TBM with an extensive background in
training and mentoring.
Beth has been a leader in nearly every aspect of the value chain, from business
analysis to sales, from research and development to fabrication. She has applied
the tools of continuous improvement in each of these areas, leading initiatives
in manufacturing and business processes, and has mentored Six Sigma green
belts and black belts through hundreds of projects.
At GE Engine Services, Beth was in engine service sales and spent two years
as a regional airline customer service manager. At Boeing Commercial Airplane
Group, she specialized in research and development. Before that, Beth was
a manufacturing engineer and worked as a shipyard supervisor in the pipefitting
trades on nuclear submarines. Beth has a Master’s degree in Management
from
Webster University and a BS in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic
Institute.
